Items Required to Open an Account

The process of opening an account with the Texas Bullion Depository® can be completed entirely online. You will need to have certain information available to apply for an account, as described here.

The online application process will require you to upload certain documents for the purposes of verifying your identity and establishing the Depository Account Holder.

At this time, you must have a valid driver license issued in the United States of America in order to establish an account.

At a minimum, you must have the following items available to upload during the application process:

  • U.S. issued driver license
  • Acceptable secondary form of identification
  • Acceptable form of proof of address

Most of the information required to establish an account can be entered directly during the process; some of the items will need to be uploaded where requested. Uploaded items must be in one of the following file types: PDF, JPEG, or PNG. The items required to be uploaded may be scanned from a desktop or laptop computer. If a scanner is unavailable to you, another option is to take a photo with your smartphone and email the images to your computer.

The acceptable forms of secondary identification required include the following:

  • U.S. Passport
  • Photo ID card issued by U.S. federal, state, or local government agency
  • Concealed Weapons Licenses issued by states or territories of the U.S. that contain a photo
  • U.S. Military ID
  • U.S. Permanent Resident Card
  • School ID card with photo
  • Voter Registration Card
  • Employment Authorization by Department of Homeland Security
  • Identification Card for Use of Resident Citizen in the U.S. (Form I-179)
  • U.S. Citizen ID Card (Form I-197)
  • Native American Tribal Document
  • Birth Certificate (original or certified copy)
  • Certification of Report of Birth Issued by the Department of State
  • Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
  • Foreign Passport with temporary Form I-551
  • Foreign Passport with Form I-94 or Form I-94A (same name on both and endorsement of nonimmigrant status)
  • Employment Authorization Document with photo (Form I766)

The acceptable list of documents for Proof of Address include:

  • Active utility bill
  • Bank statement
  • Credit card bill
  • Vehicle registration
  • Property tax bill or statement
  • Cellular telephone bill

Depending upon the type of account, you will need to upload the following information:

Personal Account

  • State issued driver license
  • Acceptable secondary form of identification
  • Proof of Address

Joint Account

  • State-issued driver license for the Primary Account Holder
  • Acceptable form of secondary identification for the Primary Account Holder
  • State-issued driver license for the Secondary Account Holder
  • Acceptable form of secondary identification for the Secondary Account Holder
  • Proof of Address

Corporate Account

  • Business documents (i.e. Article of Incorporation, Limited Liability Company filing certificate, etc.)
  • State-issued driver license for the account steward
  • Acceptable form of secondary identification for the account steward
  • Proof of Address

Trust Account

  • Trust Agreement documentation
  • State-issued driver license for the account steward
  • Acceptable form of secondary identification for the account steward
  • Proof of Address

Estate Account

  • Letters of Administration
  • State-issued driver license for the account steward
  • Acceptable form of secondary identification for the account steward
  • Proof of Address
