About

Texans are known for their independent spirit, tracing all the way to the Texas Revolution and our founding as a sovereign republic.

In 2015, the 84th Texas Legislature created the Texas Bullion Depository, the nation’s first state-administered precious metals depository. The Bullion Depository, a division of the Comptroller’s Office, serves as an independent alternative to private depositories and major bank safe deposit boxes.

In 2025, the Depository takes that independent streak one step further by offering State of Texas precious metal products available to collectors in Texas and around the world.

Like the US Mint’s Gold Eagle and Silver Eagle coins, or the Canadian Mint’s Maple Leaf coins, State of Texas Coins are beautiful pieces of art crafted in gold or silver of the highest purity.
